Impressive rally and seminar on occasion of the international mental health day and world girl child

Jalandhar, October 11, 2019: An impressive rally and a seminar on the occasion of the International Mental Health Day and World Girl Child day was organized by the joint efforts of the Grievance Redressal Cell, Social Sensitization Cell and Department of Psychology, Lyallpur Khalsa College.
The rally was given the go ahead by College Principal Dr.Gurpinder Singh Samra and speaking on the occasion he described such efforts as a responsibility of the aware citizens of the nation whilst stressing the need to hold similar programs for social awareness. The rally was also participated in by other sections of the college namely History Club, Aristotle Society of Life Sciences, English Literary Society and Mendeleev Society of Chemistry along with their respective staff members and students in large number. Chief orator on this occasion, Dr. Gulbahar Singh was duly welcomed to the college by Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra and Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Seminar Coordinator. In his address, Dr. Sidhu urged the students to keep a positive thought set to lead a stress free life and to get away from the stereotyped thought systems prevalent from many a years. He also called for the experts on the subject to initiate in this regard before providing impressive answers to the queries put forth by the students.
A Lecture on managing a stress-free life was also delivered by Prof. Shefali Taneja, Department of Psychology, Lyallpur Khalsa College. Students from BA-I namely Vasu Chadha, Palak Thakur, Sahib Singh, Aman, Pallavi and Saravdeep Kaur presented their thought through dramatic devices on the stage. Stage for the program was managed by Dr. Navjot Kaur. The program was also witnessed by Dr. Suman Chopra, Prof. Jaswinder Kaur, Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar, Dr. Amita Shahid, Dr. Patwant Kaur Atwal, Dr. Jaswinder Kaur, Dr. Gitanjali Kaushal, Dr. Ubique Bedi, Dr. Upma Arora, Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Prof. Heminder Singh, Prof. Sarabjit Singh, Prof. Gurjinder kaur and Prof. Devika Gandhi.
