ILLEGAL SAND MINING: 2 booked

Ferozepur, October 28, 2012: Acting on the complaints lodged by the industries department, the Sadar Police Station have arrested two persons for illegal mining of sand and registered a case under Mines and Mineral Development and Regulation Act, 1957, besides taking into possession the vehicles used in this operation.

As per the sources, ASI Balwant Singh in the area of Pir Ismael Khan have arrested Balwant Singh resident of village Channian of Sadiq police area and ASI Gurbachan Singh of Sadar police Ferozepur have arrested Angrej Singh for illegal mining.

While talking to GM Industries who is also the Mining Officer, confirmed that illegal mining of sand in the district is going on and on coming to know of any such incident, action is initiated. He further said, in future also, the checking of illegal mining activities in the district would be a continued process and action as per the law is initiated against the violators.
