ILLEGAL MINING: Police book 3 under Mining Act

Ferozeur, December 28, 2012: The Ferozeur Sadar Police Station has arrested three tractor drivers with four tractor-trolleys loaded with sand by making a raid in village Aku Wala, on the complaint of Mining Department, Ferozepur. 

However, the farmer, who was allowing the mining of sand from his field and one driver are being located by the police by making the raids.

Gurinder Singh, Inspector informed, a written complaint was given to the police by the Mining Officer, Ferozepur that despite ban by the court, in village Aku Wala, Sukhdev Singh Surjit Singh are managing the mining of sand and when the police raided on getting this information, four tractor-trolleys were recovered filled with sand  and the police arrested the tractor drivers Joga Singh, Sukha Singh and Binder Singh of village Gillan while one driver managed to escape from the fields. 

He further said, police are still locating one tractor driver and owner of the field. 

However, a case under section 379 of IPC and under Mining Act has been registered in this regard.
