Jalandhar, August 24, 2015: I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University has launched a Public Grievance Portal. It is now available on University’s official website ‘www.ptu.ac.in’. The public concerned can now use this grievance portal as final tool to resolve their issues related to any department of the university.
It is an initiative taken by the University as per the directions of IKG-PTU Board of Governors Chairman cum Chief Secretary Punjab IAS Sarvesh Kaushal. This portal will facilitate the students, colleges, faculty & public to lodge their grievances online. They can also send reminders and view the status of action taken regarding their grievances.
Telling about the significance of portal Registrar (officiating) Dr. Amanpreet Singh said, “It was decided in the first re-constituted board of Governors meeting which was chaired by Chief Secretary of Punjab on July 03, 2015. The functioning of this portal will make us aware about the complaints. This will bring more clarity in the system. As soon as a complaint is lodged, an email alert will be sent to complainant with grievance ID and password. Complainant can check the status of grievance from the portal online. University officials are always available to resolve the problems of public concerned but if anyone is not satisfied with the outcomes, then they can use this portal as final tool.”
The grievances can be lodged for a variety of reasons like admissions, examinations, certification etc.
Vice-Chancellor IAS Rakesh Verma said, “Bringing transparency in work is the topmost priority of the state Government and by launching this portal, it will come directly under the public domain. The concerned departments are told to deal with this section effectively.” He also congratulated University’s computer section to get it down on time.
