Ludhiana, January 27, 2016: The Indian Institute of Architects Chandigarh Punjab Chapter (IIACPC) and Ludhiana Centre congratulates Hafeez Contractor an eminent architect for winning Padma Bhushan award from Central Government.
“We are highly thankful to the Union Government for choosing an architect for Padma Bhushan Awards”, said Ar Sanjay Goel, Chairman, IIACPC.
Hafeez Contractor born in 1950 is a famous Indian architect. He was member of the Bombay Heritage Committee and New Delhi Lutyens Bungalow Zone Review Committee.
He has designed many famous buildings including The Imperial I and II, the tallest buildings in India.
His other famous project  include:
Mahagun Meadows, Noida
The 42 in Kolkata (under construction)
DY Patil Stadium in Nerul, Navi Mumbai
New Patna World City and many more.
Architecture has long been described as the most political of the Arts and the key to Contractor’s success is as much his mastery of the policy levers of the World’s largest democracy as his talents as a designer. Combining the skills of an architect with those of a political operative, Contractor has the ability to read new regulations and immediately find exploitable loopholes and work behind the scenes to shape legislation that serves his business. Most crucially, he has mastered the art of rhetoric, of phrasing his private interests in terms of the public interest.
His success and recognition has sent more positive waves in architecture fraternity.
