IDPD observe Hiroshima Day

Ludhiana, August 6, 2012: Hiroshima day was observed by Indian Doctors For Peace and Development (IDPD) at Shaheed Capt. Manjeet Singh Gill Government Senior Secondary School, Dhamot in the district.

Principal Manjinder Kaur Gill while welcoming the chief guest Dr. Jasvinder Singh said that they should concentrate on de-nuclearisation of world. She emphasised on the youth to be aware about the merits and demerits of atomic bombs.

Rajinder Singh, lecturer apprised students about the working of the electrons, neutrons and protons. He also said that they should use the nano technology in positive way. He said that nuclear bomb was a threat to the universe.

Key note address was given by Dr. Jasvinder singh an active member of IDPD. He give details of how Hiroshima and Nagasaki were destroyed by the American forces by using the nuclear bombs. He also showed the photographs of the after effects on the victims of the nuclear bombing. He expressed concern on the management of the nuclear waste which was polluting our environment. He said South Asia was the big buyer of weapons and the weapons raise in the developing countries was an issue of great concern.

Two minutes silence was also observed for the departed souls.
