Hyderabad, October 7, 2016: The Hyderabad Chapter of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) organised a National Training Programme for Women Empowerment -"Emancipate Women Prodigy to Rule the Roost, at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad today.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) is the Knowledge Partner for the said Program.

In the inaugural session following guest will address- Smt.Daggubati Purandhareswari, Former MOS for HRD,Govt of India was the Chief Guest on the occasion and will speak on Women Prodigy to Rule the Roost; Smt.Sailaja Kiran, Managing Director, Margadarsi Chit Fund Pvt. Ltd., is the Guest of Honor and speak on ’Enterprising – Entrepreneurial Skills’ asKey Note Speaker; CS Mamta Binani, President, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India is the Atelier Guest and will speak on ‘Transforming & Transcending Professionals’.

Smt.Meenakshi Dutta Ghosh, IAS [Retd.] Former Secretary, Government of India, Gurgaon is the Guest of honour and speak on ‘Leadership and Organisational Skills’.

CS Mamta Binani , President, The Institute of Company Secretaries of India(ICSI) in her presidential address said that, “ it’s a proud moment for the ICSI to Announce a National Training programme for Women Empowerment as training for gender equality and women’s empowerment is an essential component for ICSI’s commitment to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment. Training for gender equality is a transformative process that aims to provide knowledge, techniques and tools to develop skills and changes in attitudes and behaviours.

It is a continuous and long-term process that requires political will and commitment of a global order to create inclusive societies that recognize the need to promote gender equality, she added.Diverse and professional boards are a strong indicator of a well-run company. Various research studies globally show that including women directors on boards has a direct and positive impact on a company’s profile and risk management. India Inc is now waking up to potential benefits of having a diverse talent pool, thinking, perspective and skill sets.

“Blending women’s skill sets across organisations and leadership teams can create a more innovative culture that fosters greater loyalty between employees and their company. Women add value to corporate decision-making, resulting in improved financial performance and shareholder value, increased customer and employee satisfaction, rising investor confidence, greater market knowledge, innovation and reputation”, reiterated President,ICSI.

CS Ahalada Rao V, Council Member, ICSI & Programme Director also addressed the august gathering and said that, “Trainings like this are tools, strategy, and means to effect individual and collective transformation towards gender equality by raising awareness and encouraging learning, knowledge-building and skills development. It helps women and men to understand the role gender plays and to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for advancing gender equality in their daily lives and work. Training for gender equality is part and parcel of delivering ICSI’s commitments to aiming at bringing forth Gender Diversity in Boardrooms in the Corporate sector, he added.
