The opening day session of three-day “4th National Conference of Indian College of Anaesthesiologists (ICACON-2012), organised by Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana on Friday.
Ludhiana, November 23, 2012: Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital is organising three-day “4th National Conference of Indian College of Anaesthesiologists (ICACON-2012)” from November 23- 25 in Dumra Auditorium.
According to Organising Secretary Dr Sunil Katyal, the conference will provide the participating delegates with the opportunity to learn about the latest clinical advances in research, practice, treatment and care in the field of anaesthesiology.
The conference will provide hands-on-training, comprehensive lectures, sub speciality symposiums, interactive sessions, free paper sessions and poster presentations.
Scientific Secretary, Dr Anju Grewal said that a galaxy of distinguished international and national faculty will be delivering talks and sharing their expertise with the participating delegates. The scientific sessions, during the conference, will aim at discussing the latest international advances, interventions and developments in the fields of Anaesthesia, Resuscitation, Chronic and Acute Pain Management, critical care and sub-speciality anaesthesia.
“Workshop on Ultrasound” was held on the first day of the conference. Dr M. Rupinder Singh from DMCH introduced faculty to the audience. She informed that the objective of the workshop is to enhance skills and knowledge needed for comprhensive & safe practice of ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia.
Dr Sanjeev Palta from GMC, Chandigarh delivered talks on “Basics of ultrasound and scope of ultrasound in anaesthesia”, “Update on ultrasound guided upper limb blocks” and “Update on ultrasound guided” followed by lecture on “Ultrasound guided central venous/ arterial cannulation review” by Dr Vikas Saini from PGIMER,Chandigarh.
Dr Richa Saroa from GMC, Chandigarh gave a talk on “Update on ultrasound guided lower limb blocks”.
Update on USG Transversus abdominis plane block and USG Paravertebral block was conducted by a team of doctors including Dr Dinesh Sood, Dr Suneet Kathuria, Dr Shikha Gupta, Dr M Rupinder Singh, Dr Sandeep Kundra, Dr Kamakashi and Dr Nidhi Bhatia from PGI Chandigarh.
