I S Dev Samaj School secures gold category in School Health Accreditation Project
Schools both government and private were accessed by a team of assessors and categorized on accreditation under four levels Chandigarh, July 12, 2019: In an evaluation carried out by the PGIMER under the School Health Accreditation Project (SHAP), I S Dev Samaj Senior Secondary School (Sector 21), Chandigarh, has secured gold category. Schools both Government and Private were accessed by a team of assessors and categorized on Accreditation under four levels - Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. The SHAP on Accreditation of schools as Health Promoting Schools in Chandigarh, is being undertaken by Educational Department, UT, Chandigarh in partnership with PGIMER, Health Department, Chandigarh Administration and ICMR since September 2016. Of these schools, I S Dev Samaj Senior Secondary School (Sector 21), Chandigarh, was proved best in many segments after it was assessed on different parameters. The school principal Loveleen Bedi received the award from B.L Sharma, Education Secretary. The Education Secretary has felicitated the school with certificates in the Ranking and Certification ceremony held at Post Graduate Government College for (Boys), Auditorium, Sector 11, Chandigarh. Speaking on this occasion, Loveleen Bedi said, “With the blessings of our Chairman, Shriman Nirmal Singh, continuous guidance of the school management and implementation of health related initiatives by the school staff, we were able to achieve the Gold Category.” “I S Dev Samaj Senior Secondary School successfully cleared all the stages of the research easily.
