Hygiene rating must for hotels, dhabas & all businesses selling eatables: ADC(D) Ludhiana
Ludhiana, October 3, 2019: A review meeting of Punjab government’s Mission Tandrust Punjab was held at Zila Parishad Complex, here today. This meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Amrit Singh and was attended by senior officials of the District Administration. During the meeting, the health department officials informed that it is now mandatory for all hotels, dhabas, and all other businesses selling eatables to get their hygiene rating done. The officials informed that as per the directions of the Punjab government, all hotels, dhabas, and all other businesses selling eatables have to get their hygiene rating done regarding cleanliness of their premises. Amrit Singh urged the owners of hotels, dhabas, and all other businesses selling eatables to get their rating done before October 31, 2019 as it is mandatory. She said that for getting hygiene rating done, the owners of the above mentioned businesses can contact the Health Department or the government-approved agencies. The Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) directed the health department officials to ensure that all businesses involved in the sale of eatables should have their hygiene rating and failure to do so would attract strict action. She said that the companies involved in online food ordering business should also deliver food of only those business establishments that have hygiene rating. In view of the approaching Festival season, she directed the officials of health department and Dairy Development to intensify sampling of milk and milk products, sweets and other eatables. The health department officials informed that 102 samples of milk and milk products were taken in September and they have been sent for checking in the government lab. The MC officials informed that to check use of banned polythene bags in the city, 256 challans of Rs 2,000 each were issued to the shopkeepers in the month of September 2019 and around 7 quintals of bags were confiscated. The Dairy Development officials informed that 11 free milk testing camps were organised in district Ludhiana in September 2019 and during these camps, the milk is tested for milk fat, SNF, protein, density, water and urea, caustic soda, sugar, salt etc. They further informed that the dairy farmers as well as residents can get their milk tested totally free of cost from the office of Deputy Director, Dairy Development Department, Ludhiana, at 598-L, Model Town, Ludhiana (phone number 0161-2400223) on any working day. ADC (D) Amrit Singh directed all the departments under Mission Tandrust Punjab to send their progress reports on time. She also asked them to work jointly for the success of this programme.
