HOSHIARPUR to witness completion of 5 mega development works by June

Jalandhar/Hoshiarpur, March 6, 2013: The Hoshiarpur district would witness an upgraded road network as the construction on different 80 kilometer long road stretches were on full swing, which would be completed by June this year.  

Disclosing this here on Wednesday, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Public Works Department Minister, said that works of 5 major road up-gradation projects were started in Hoshiarpur, which were on the advanced stage of completion.

He said that these projects would include 19.19 kilometer long Hajipur-Maini with a total cost of Rs. 947.92 lakh, 8 kilometer long Begowal-Maini with a cost of Rs. 363.94 lakh, 17.48 kilometer long Jio Chack-Datarpur worth Rs. 917.2 lakh, 16 kilometer long Garhshanker-Jaijon with a total cost of Rs. 631.23 lakh and 14.34 kilometer long Mahilpur-Phagwara with a cost of Rs. 642.98 lakh.

The minister informed that four major four lane projects were under construction in the state including 56 kilometer long Ropar-Chamkaur Sahib-Neelon-Doraha (along Sirhind Canal), 30 kilometer long Morinda-Kurali-Siswan-Baddi, 30 kilometer long Kot Kapura-Sri Muktsar Sahib and 36 kilometer long Batala-Mehta-Beas. He said that these projects would also be completed soon, which would provide a big sigh of relief to daily commuters from traffic congestions besides saving their precious time and energy.

Dhillon said that SAD-BJP Government was committed for the overall development of the state and in future more road construction projects would be started for the public convenience.
