Honda firms up Skill Development drive in Pune
Pune, March 15, 2019: Providing more avenues for skill development amongst youth, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. inaugurated Honda Skill Enhancement Centre at Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Aundh, Pune under its CSR initiative.
The inauguration was done in the august presence of Mr. Rajendra Ghume, Joint Director – Vocational Education & Training, Pune Region & Mr. Prakash Sayagaonkar P.L , Principal, Government ITI Aundh, Pune & along with senior dignitaries of Honda 2Wheelers Mr. Kazuhiro Miyano, Deputy Director – Sales & Marketing, HMSI and Mr. Vivek Taluja, Regional Head – Sales & Marketing, HMSI.
‘Honda Skill Enhancement Centre’ aims to provide authentic platform to students for practising trade specific skills on various aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair. Making them future ready, industrial training will be imparted to students in fully functional service workshops set up by Honda.
Speaking on the initiative, Mr Pradeep Pandey, Senior Vice President, Customer Service, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said “The Indian automotive industry is changing rapidly, thanks to the fast approaching deadline for BSVI emission norms. Surely the skilled manpower demand will go up, opening up employment opportunities for the youth. Hence, as a responsible corporate, Honda is taking various CSR initiatives to promote skill development across the country. Creating a pool of skilled workforce through Honda Skill Enhancement Centres in India, we aim to empower youth and help them build a brighter future.”
Honda Skill Enhancement Centre established in Govt. ITI Aundh, Pune will further create job opportunities for the students. On the completion of training, Honda will provide recruitment opportunities to candidates at Honda manufacturing plants and dealerships.
