Traveling in a city like Mumbai is nothing less than a task and with the city continuously expanding, major stress levels increase when it comes to travelling from one distance to the other. Also, one cannot ignore the time lost in travelling across the city. Traffic jams take a toll on one’s patience too. Therefore, it is not unusual if you see people leaving their place of stay two or more hours before their scheduled daily shift to ensure they start work on time. Malkhan Singh who plays Lord Shiva in Sony Entertainment Television’s Vighnaharta Ganesh is following the pattern. When he started shooting for the show, he used to spend close to two and a half hours commuting back and forth from his residence to the shoot location set in Naigaon and vice versa. Taking almost half a day travelling, the actor came up with a smart solution for himself. Now that the show is close to completing 500 glorious episodes, the actor took a wise decision to shift from his residence in Andheri to a rented place in Vasai. The current track of the show depicts Raavan reciting tales of Lord Shiva’s 19 avatars to Lord Ganesha and Malkhan Singh is shouldering the responsibility of playing these avatars on-screen. Out of all the avatars, some avatars like, Veerbhadra and Kaalbhairav require heavy make-up and takes several hours for him to get ready for the shoot. This is when Malkhan finally decided to shift his place close to the sets to save the travel time. Malkhan now lives in a rented apartment in Vasai, close to the sets of Vighnaharta Ganesh in Naigaon and is quiet enjoying it. When asked about shifting his house to Vasai Malkhan Singh says, “With the show increasing in pace, it was becoming difficult for me to afford 4 hours of travel daily. Traffic Jams made it worst. Due to all this, my health was getting affected as was my sleepy cycle, so I decided to shift my place closer to the shoot location. All that was quick but had to happen in order to streamline things. My new location is such that I can jog to the set, this has bi-sided-benefit as it saves time and also, I do not have to compromise on fitness even when I am shooting for long hours.”
