Ludhiana, March 5, 2015: Maple Bear Canadian Pre-School, Udham Singh Nagar, Ludhiana celebrated Holi in the school premises with pomp & show. Children came in traditional Radha Krishan dresses depicting that they are ready for the sprinkling of colours to celebrate Holi. As & when they saw their fellow classmates seen in the same attires they started playing Holi with herbal colours & Flowers. Some of the kids also played with pichkaris which reminded the days of playing Holi like in Vrandvan.
Veena Aggarwal Principal of the school sent a message to the parents & kids that Holi helps to bring the society together and strengthen the secular fabric of our country. For, the festival is celebrated by non-Hindus also as everybody like to be a part of such a colouful and joyous festival.
Also, the tradition of the Holi is that even the enemies turn friends on Holi and forget any feeling of hardship that may be present. Besides, on this day people do not differentiate between the rich and poor and everybody celebrate the festival together with a spirit of bonhomie and brotherhood.
Kids exchanged gifts, sweets and greetings. This helps in revatalising relationships and strengthening emotional bonds between them. She also told the parents that only herbal colours should be used to enjoy Holi.
