Ranjit Singh of PNB scores match hatrick on third day of Perfect Real Estate “All India Sahibzada Ajit Singh Hockey Champion Trophy 2012”

Ludhiana, October 23, 2012: In the opening match of Perfect Real Estate “All India Sahibzada Ajit Singh Hockey Champion Trophy 2012” Army XI defeated Indian Air Force by 3-1 in the first match of day 3 being held at Olympian Pirthipal Singh Hockey Stadium, Punjab Agricultural University, here today. This tournament is being organised by Sports Council of Ludhiana.

The first goal of the first match was scored by Harwant Singh of Indian Air Force in the 18th minute of the match. Ealizer Lakra of Army XI equalised the goal in 32nd minute of the match. But it was Poovanna of Army XI who scored second goal for his team in 59th minute, followed by Bhushan of the same team in 64th minute of the match.

Surinder Singh Sodhi, DIG, was the chief guest during this match while senior Akali leader Harish Rai Dhanda was the guest of honour.

In the second match between PNB vs Baba Farid Club Chandigarh, the bankers defeated BFC by 6-1. The PNB players were quick to take lead of 2-0 in the first half. First goal of this match was scored in ninth minute of the match when Hardeep Singh sounded the board. The second goal for the team was scored by PNB captain Jalwinder Singh Tony in 16th minute of the match.

In the second half, PNB scored four more goals. The first two goals of second half were scored in 40th and 43rd minute of the match by Ranjit Singh of PNB. Banwali Xess of PNB in 63rd minute and Ranjit Singh of PNB scored in 66th minute. The only goal for Baba Farid Club was scored by Kanwaldeep Singh in 69th minute of the match.

Tomorrow, (October 24), two matches will be played. These include Indian Army V/s Indian Oil at 1 pm and Indian Air Force v/s BPCL at 2:30pm.
