HMV Collegiate Sr. Secondary School lifts overall trophy on second day of COLORS 2019
COLORS’19, a two day cultural fiesta concludes at CT Group of Institutions
Jalandhar, February 2, 2019: More than 800 students from 33 schools across region participated on the second and concluding day of cultural festival COLORS 2019 at CT Group of Institutions, Maqsudan. The second day of the event was inter-school competition in which students took part in 22 competitive events like Group Dance, Rangoli, Poster Making, Quiz, Solo Singing, Mehndi, Turban tying and many more.
HMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School managed to lift the overall trophy of COLORS 2019 along with cash prize of Rs. 11,000, in an inter-school competition whereas Government Girls Senior Secondary Government School Nehru Garden bagged runners up trophy along with Rs. 5,100. Besides, Sri Guru Ravidass Public School bagged first and second prizes in Debate. In the Mehndi event, UC Girls Senior Secondary Suranassi bagged the first prize and HMV Collegiate School stood second. Parvati Jain School bagged first prize in group singing and Government Model Collegiate Senior Secondary School Ladowali stood second. HMV Collegiate Senior School stood first in salad making whereas Parvati Jain School stood second. Government Girls Senior Secondary School Nehru Garden stood first in clay modeling and St. Thomas School bagged second position.
Apart from its own students, the campus was home to more than 800 students from various schools namely Apeejay School, Eklavya School, Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Bhogpur, HMV Collegiate School, Ivy World School, Mayor World School, St. Thomas School, UC Girls Suranassi, SP Prime Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar etc.
Dr. Jasdeep Kaur Dhami, Campus Director said, “Like every year, we have received a wonderful response from various schools on the concluding day of the event. Students participated with full competitive spirit in various activities and have won the honors. COLORS aim at inspiring the youth to elevate aspirations, stay focused and achieve greater heights. The objective is to bring out the dynamism of the youth of today by providing them platform to perform. On the first day also, we have received wonderful participation from the colleges across Punjab.”
Mr. Manbir Singh, Managing Director, CT Group said that this is a wonderful platform given to the young students to showcase their talent and we thank all the participants from colleges and schools for participating in this two day cultural event.
Parminder Kaur Channi, Co-Chairperson, Deputy Director Trainings Amrit Kalsi, Dean Academics Anurag Sharma and Principal CTITR Dr. Yogesh Chhabra were also present during the event.
