Dharamshala, October 26, 2016: To cater to the rush ahead of Diwali, Himachal Roadways Transport Corporation (HRTC) on Wednesday announced it would ply 347 additional buses within and outside the state, from 27th of October . 137out of 347, the maximum shall run from Chandigarh to different parts of HP. Likewise, 101 more buses would be deployed to link the state capital with the district headquarters . These special buses shall be available from 27th to 29th October 2016.
“There will be no online booking facility in these extra routes. The timing the buses and tickets can be had from the HRTC offices from where the buses will depart”, said GS Bali Transport Minister of Himachal Pradesh. Bali said that Special buses will ply from Delhi, Chandigarh, Shimla and Baddi to different parts of the state from October 27.
He said,” 80 additional buses would be deployed at the ISBT in New Delhi for various destinations in the hill state from October 28 to 29, while 137 buses from Chandigarh for three days from October 27. On 27th – 15 extra buses, 28th 54 extra buses and on 29th 68 extra buses shall leave Chandigarh. And from Delhi 35 extra buses on 28th and 45 on 29th shall leave for HP.”
The HRTC with over 2,500 buses has been crucial to the state and its economy as the roadways buses connect far-flung villages with urban areas.
Bali said that the buses on journey back shall start from 31 St of October and their numbers shall be decided over the demand.
