Himachal MPs to raise issue of Pathankot-Mandi rail & road in parliament

Dharamshala, January 23, 2018: Ex-CM Himachal and presently BJP MP from Kangra, Shanta Kumar has indicated that the development of the area will now go multifold as at present, BJP is ruling in the Centre as well as in Himachal. Both the governments have the dynamic leadership, he added.
He said he himself and BJP MP of Mandi, Ram Sroop Sharma will raise several important development issues and demands related to Himachal in the coming Lok Sabha session. “We will demand the start of work of four- laning of Pathankot – Mandi National Highway. We shall also demand the proceeding of the survey work of Pathankot –Mandi –Leh-Laddakh rail line which shall pass through Dharamshala, Palampur and Mandi. Lacks of crore shall be spent on these two projects,” he added.
Shanta Kumar said thousands of youth shall be absorbed in these projects and when completed, will help Himachal to get place on world tourism map. He said that “we will discuss with Jai Ram Thakur on few other projects too”. The new Himachal government must send new projects to the Centre and all the Himachal MPs shall work together to get them approved, said Shanta Kumar.
He said that the HP CM is reaching Dharamshala on 28th of this month for a weeklong winter sojourn, for the first time after assuming office, but he (Shanta) has to rush to Delhi for important meetings before the coming Lok Sabhha session. He asked public of Kangra district to welcome Thakur, open heatedly.
