Dharamshala, July 18, 2018: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has expressed deep grief over the death of pilot Squadron Leader Meet Kumar of MIG 21 fighter Jet of Indian Air Force that crashed in the Patta Jattiyan of the Jwali Sub Division in Kangra district on Wednesday. He expressed his deep condolences with the bereaved family members and prayed the Almighty for the peace of the departed soul. The solo pilot MIG 21 took of the Pathankot air base at around 12.30pm and was on fire during air bourn according to the information received. It seems that the pilot avoided the crowed area and crashed it in these fields”, said Sandeep Kumar DC Kangra from the crash site. He further added, “We were informed by Air Force about the crash at around 1.20 Pm.” "The MiG-21 took off from Punjab's Pathankot and later lost contact with its system. Police are present on the spot. Fire has been doused but debris are scattered everywhere. No civilian causality has been reported so far”, said Santosh Paital, SP, Kangra.
