Ludhiana, June 7, 2016: Hero DMC Heart Institute has become the first institute in India to be recognized for peri-operative Trans Esophageal Echocardiography training by Indian Association of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Association (IACTA). Trans Esophageal Echocardiography (TEE) is a technique which by which echocardiography is done through food pipe while cardiac operation is going on. This helps in making surgical decisions much better and thus improves the surgical outcome. Same way, certain cardiac surgical procedures need TEE as essential tool to make operative plan. Availability of vital information by TEE is of great value to decide the success of complex operations like valve repair surgeries and complicated cardiac surgeries.
Dr Rajesh Arya, Cardiac Anaesthesiologist of the institute has been awarded with prestigious certificate of “Diplomate in Advanced Perioperative TEE by National Board of Echocardiography (NBE), USA. Apart from Certification from NBE, USA, Dr. Rajesh Arya has to his credit certification by Japanese Board, European Board and also certified in TEE by IACTA. He passed this NBE exam in 2013 and after that completed the clinical skill process for this certification during last two years, he is given “Diplomate” status by NBE, USA.
Secretary of DMCH Managing Society-Sh. Prem Kumar Gupta, Principal Dr. Sandeep Puri, Dr. G.S. Wander, Chief cardiologist HDHI, congratulated Dr. Arya for passing this certification and bringing the expertise in this subject to international level.
