HERO DMC Heart Doctor clears prestigious European Board Certification

Ludhiana, July 11, 2013: Dr. Rajesh Arya, Consultant Cardiac Anaesthetist at HDHI passed the prestigious certification exam of European Board in Peri- Operative Trans Esophageal Echocardiography (TEE). He is the only doctor in India who is certified in Peri op TEE by Japanese, Indian and by European board.

Dr. Arya visited Heartcentre Leipzig, Germany for training in 3D TEE & ECMO and after that he took TEE certification exam at Barcelona conducted by European Society of Cardiology in collaboration with European Association of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Anaesthesiologist. This is one of the highest rated exams in the field of perioperative TEE and passing this is a great achievement for HDHI.

TEE is a technique in which the cardiac ECHO is done through stomach while the heart operation is going on, without interrupting the surgical procedure. Certain cardiac procedures are not possible without TEE e.g. valve repairs, which are routinely done at HDHI. With the use of TEE, functioning of repaired valve can be checked immediately during the operation, thus preventing the complications and improve the success rates of heart operations considerably.

Hero DMC Heart Institute is performing TEE since its beginning & has the state of art echocardiography machines. HDHI was the first to have 3D echo machine and 3D TEE machine in Punjab. Dr. Arya thanked management for providing state of the art equipment which helps to serve the patient with best of medical care.
