Ludhiana, November 23, 2019: 2-day ‘HERNIACON-2019’ conference, organized by the Department of Surgery, DMCH, Ludhiana, got concluded today with an elaborate and comprehensive scientific sessions based on the topic of ‘hernia surgery’ using laparoscopic techniques.
The conference was formally inaugurated by Vice-Principal & Chief Cardiologist- Dr GS Wander along with Dean Academics Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina, Medical Superintendents Dr Ashwani Chaudhary & Dr Sandeep Sharma. Also present on the occasion were Dr Jaspal Singh (Professor & Head of Surgery) and Dr Sanjeev Uppal (Professor & Head of Plastic Surgery).
Vice-Principal Dr GS Wander, in his message to the audience, extended warm welcome to all the distinguished guest speakers and participating delegates. In his address, Dr Wander said that the two-day conference provided deep insight into various aspects of hernia surgery and thus, enhancing overall knowledge and expertise of the participating delegates.
Organizing Chairperson-Dr Atul Mishra (Professor of Surgery) said that the main purpose of organizing the conference to make budding general surgeons aware about the latest techniques in the field of ‘hernia surgery’ using laparoscopic techniques. The first day of the conference included ‘live operative workshop’ by distinguished national faculty from various regions of the country.
Organizing Secretary-Dr Amandeep Singh Nar proposed a vote of thanks to all those present on the occasion. Giving information, Dr Nar said that the scientific sessions held on the last and concluding today include scientific lecture on the topics ‘Groin Hernia Anatomy’, ‘eTEP in Inguinal Hernia’, ‘Abdominal Wall Anatomy’, ‘Risk reduction strategies in Hernia surgery, ‘Anaesthesia & Post Operative Analgesia’, and others.
