Ferozepur, November 19, 2019: The state health department has suspended the license of drug de-addiction centre in Hansraj Hospital, Moga road and issued show-cause notice to the hospital.
The hospital management through show cause notice has been asked why not their license to be cancelled permanently.
The action has been taken after a team formed by deputy commissioner Mr Chander Gaind found several anomalies during a surprise inspection of the drug de-addiction centre.
The administration had received complaints that rather than specialist psychiatrist in the centre, another doctor was prescribing the drug de-addiction medicine which is a clear violation of the guidelines. Further, the patients' cards were not carrying the signature of doctors and others.
A four-member team led by ADC (G) Mr Ravinder Pal Singh had given a comprehensive report about the inspection and the same was sent to director health department following which the license of the centre was suspended.
Deputy Commissioner Mr Chander Gaind said that stern action would be taken against those centre which will be found floating the rules and regulations. He said that the administration has kept a close vigil on all the centres and no one would be allowed to violate the government's guidelines.
He asked all such centres to adhere to the guidelines of the government to avoid action.
