Haryana government must reconsider to naming Mohali-Chandigarh Airport as Shaheed Bhagat Airport: MP Manish Tewari
Banga, September 30, 2019: Manish Tewari, Member of the Lok Sabha, addressing a function organized by Youth Club and villagers at Khatkar Kalan, on the occasion of Bhagat Singh's 112th birth anniversary, said the Haryana Government must reconsider the renaming of Mohali-Chandigarh International Airport to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh.
He said that Punjab Government and Chief Minister Capt.Amarinder Singh had already informed the Union Government in this regard but due to disinterest of Haryana Government in this regard, no decision has been taken as of now. Bhagat Singh was a true epitome of sacrifice and so his sacrifices were recalled.
He said that he is blessed to be given this area under his constituency as it is related with Martyr Bhagat Singh who has always been an inspiration for him and now he will leave no stone unturned for the development of this area.
Further, he has promised to put forward the demand of Stadium made by the Youth Club in front of the Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Sodhi. Village Panchayat put forward the demand for Rs.2 lakh for the development of the village, which was promised to be fulfilled in next few days.
Apart from Satbir Singh Pali Fikki (former MLA Mohan Singh Banga), PPCC Secretary Gurmel Singh Pahlawan, Dr. Harpreet Singh Kenth, Contractor Rajinder Singh, Club President Satnam Singh Sandhu, Secretary Tarlok Singh Sandhu, Vice President Gurdev Singh Dusanth, Mela Incharge Satnam Singh Sandhu and Jeeta Khatkar, Drivjot Singh Singh, were also present.
