Guest lecture by Gerry Carpanini to improve trauma care services
Ludhiana, October 3, 2019: Gerry Carpanini from the South Western Ambulance Service in the UK delivered a lecture on teaching programme including resuscitation and improving its outcome to a packed auditorium of 300 + staff nurses and students which was very well received by all. This was a first visit of Gerry Carpanini after 10 year at the C.M.C & Hospital. Sister Gladis, Nursing Superintendent welcomed the guest with bunch of flowers. Gerry said, during this visit, the focus has been to enhance care of Trauma, Cardiac and Ambulance services. Gerry Carpanini told about BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support) and he taught us how to give effective C.P.R (Cardio Pulmonary Resasitation). Ratio of C.P.R, Cycle of C.P.R and how to improve Trauma and Ambulance Services in Ludhiana. Dr.Parvez Haque, HoD Trauma, Dr.Amit Gulrez, S.M.O Trauma & Incharge of AMARS (Ambulance Mobike & Rescue Services), Vinay Peter (Stroke Nurse) took initiative to organize this program. He said, “We are thankful to our Director- Dr.William Bhatti, Medical Superintendent- Dr.Anil Luther, Nursing Superintendent- Sister Gladis, General Superintendent- Sajith Kumar and College of Nursing Principal Dr.Reena Jairus.
