GST has revolutionised Indian Tax Structure, Say experts at 1-day workshop on GST organised at SCD

Ludhiana, September 16, 2019: One day workshop on GST was conducted on 13th September at SCD Government College, Ludhiana for the students of B.Com, B.B.A, M.Com and M.Com (BI).
Vishal Gary a leading Chartered Accountant and former Vice Chairman of Northern India Regional Council(NIRC) of institute of Chartered Accountants of India was a key note speaker.
Prof.Ashwani Bhalla (Co-ordinator M.Com (BI) and Prof.Suman Lata Gupta HOD (Department of Commerce), welcomed and introduced the key note speaker, CA Vishal Garg (Ex-Chairman NIRC).
While introducing the theme, Dr.Ashwani Bhalla Professor in the department of Commerce said that GST system has become important instrument to detect taxation frauds and those who are opposing it are basically playing in the hands of tax evaders who has destroyed the Indian economy in the last 70 years. He said recent tax raids and unearthing of frauds in tax refunds are possible only because of foolproof software of GST.
CA Vishal Garg, in his key note address explored various new aspects of GST and elucidated various doubts holding in the minds of students. He said that GST is a destination based and supplies based tax which has brought transparency and vividness in the Indian tax structure. He also explained the system of filing return and with examples explained the software based system.
The session was extremely interesting for all students and they got an opportunity to hear and learn from a GST expert.
Principal of the college Dr.Dharam Singh Sandhu applauded the efforts of Commerce Department and shared his own experiences of GST and how the life of the people has been eased with introduction of GST.
The workshop was concluded by vote of thanks by Dr.Suman Lata.
