GRAM PANCHAYAT SHOULD CARRY OUT OVERALL DEVELOPMENT OF VILLAGES ABOVE PARTY LINES: DHARAMSOT

Ludhiana, January 19, 2019: Punjab Forests and Wildlife Minister Mr Sadhu Singh Dharamsot today called upon all newly elected gram panchayats of the state to work wholeheartedly above party lines for the overall development of their villages as well as residents. He said that there is no shortage of funds with the state government for such gram panchayats. He said this while addressing a function organised by the gram panchayat of village Dharaur, near here today.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr Sadhu Singh Dharamsot said that it is after a long time that the elections of gram panchayats have been held in a peaceful and transparent manner. He said that in each village, the voters have voted for the panchayat of their choice and that is why, Punjab government respects peoples mandate over this issue. He assured that there would be no shortage of funds for those gram panchayats that work wholeheartedly for the overall development of their villages in real term.
He called upon the newly elected gram panchayats to have a positive mindset while carrying out development in their villages. He said that the panchayats should keep political affiliations aside while carrying out development so that there should be a direct connect between them and the state government.
Mr Dharamsot assured the gram panchayat of village Dharaur that he would make efforts for securing all possible support from the Punjab government.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Senior Congress leader Mr Hardev Singh Rosha, Sarpanch Mrs Karamjit Kaur, all panches, besides a large number of village residents. On this occasion, Mr Dharamsot also honoured the newly elected village panchayat.
