Ludhiana, September 15, 2014: Today Govt of Uttar Pradesh exempted VAT on complete bicycles. Stating this, K.K. Seth, Chairman, Federation of Indian & Commercial Organisations (FICO), Ludhiana thanked to Akhlesh Yadav, Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh for the bold initiative. He also demanded for the exemption of CST because it will boost the cycle industries.
Gurmeet Singh Kular, Chairman, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry urged the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal to exempt cycle industry from VAT because 96% manufacturing of bicycle and bicycle parts is in Punjab and specially in Ludhiana.
Manjinder Singh Sachdeva, President, BRADO urged the Punjab Government to save the mother industry of Punjab by exempt from VAT. Before that Delhi government also exempted cycle less than Rs.3500 from VAT, he said.
