GOVERNOR INVITES RETIRED OFFICERS OF ARMED FORCES ON HI-TEA

Chandigarh, October 9, 2016: Punjab Governor and Administrator UT Chandigarh, Shri VP Singh Badnore, today invited retired senior officers of Armed Forces at Punjab Raj Bhavan over a cup of tea.
Interacting with Officers the Governor said that he was also connected with Army, his wife was from Army, his father was Lt Col. and his father in law was Brigadier. He said that he had a desire to meet all the top ranking officers from army especially in view of their vast experiences in the context of security of the country.
The Governor called upon the officers to share their experiences, and thoughts on topics like Nationalism, Army life and its contribution, the security needs of the country etc, with the students in the schools ,colleges and the universities. He also shared that approximately 95 eminent personalities from different fields of life have already consulted to give lectures to students in UT of Chandigarh.
Almost everybody was ready to give lectures in educational institutions. Amongst those who volunteered on the spot and gave their names included, Lt.Gen. K S Mann (Retd.) Lt.Gen.P. N. Hoon (Retd.) Air Marshal PS Gill (Retd.) and Maj.Gen. Dipinder Singh.
Prominent amongst others present in tea party at Punjab Raj Bhavan included, Mrs Kirron Kher MP, Mr MP Singh Additional Chief Secretary to Governor, Mr Parimal Rai Advisor to Administrator and Mr Anurag Aggarwal Home Secretay.
