Chandigarh, September 16, 2016: Heads of various departments of Chandigarh Administration today gave general presentation and apprised the Administrator UT Chandigarh Shri VP Singh Badnore regarding the roles and functions of their respective departments.

Discussing each and every department at length with the concerned officer the Administrator has shown keen interest and has envisioned transforming Chandigarh into a digitally empowered, ambitious, cultural and knowledge city.
He said that such meetings on regular basis would be held with the officers of the Chandigarh Administration to discuss plan of action, analyze progress and breed ideas for the development of the city.

He said that Chandigarh should strive to become a Zero Carbon City. He also desired that a human touch should be given in administrative working with a special focus on physically challenged, senior citizens, education and health. Working upon such fields, will take up the administration residents relationship to new heights, he added.

He asked the officers to also take necessary steps to educate the masses to enable them to take maximum advantage of the various schemes and programmes launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.

Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included Mr. Parimal Rai, Adviser to Administrator, Mr. M.P. Singh, Additional Chief Secretary to Governor, Mr. Sarvjit Singh, Finance Secretary, Mr. Ajit Balaji Joshi, Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Maninder Singh, Chairman Chandigarh Housing Board, Mr. B. Purushartha, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Mr. S.B. Deepak Kumar, Special Secretary Home, Mrs Kavita Singh, Managing Director, CITCO, Mr. Rubinderjit Singh Brar, DPI Schools and other senior officers of Chandigarh Administration.
