Golden Arrow Robinhood Outreach Programme

Jalandhar, October 18, 2017: In continuation with the Indian Army’s efforts to contribute towards the development of the society and to instill social awareness amongst the children and make them more responsible in life, a noble gesture was undertaken by Army personnels and their families of Kapurthala Military Station under the aegis of 38 Infantry Brigade in the name of ‘Golden Arrow Robin Hood Outreach Programme’.

Under this project the children and families of Kapurthala Military Station identified certain old age homes and orphanages in Kapurthala namely ‘The Sukhjit Hostel’, ‘Arya Samaj Trust’ and ‘Ganga Nirmala Kusth Ashram’ wherein orphan children, differently abled orphans and people suffering from Leprosy are residing. On 17 Oct 17, these children alongwith their parents have voluntarily contributed items like new and old clothes, blankets, essential food commodities, sports kit etc to these orphanages & old age homes. The students from Kendriya Vidyalaya and Army School also whole heartedly participated in this drive.

The conduct of this event has immensely benefitted the personnels and their families in increasing their sense of social responsibility and commitment towards the society. Brig MRKR Panicker, Station Commander, Kapurthala Military Station was also present during this drive. He appreciated the children and encouraged them for further development towards nation building. He further added that Leprosy is a non contagious disease and we must provide social support to people suffering from Leprosy.

On this noble occasion, the benefitted organizations/persons highly appreciated Army’s efforts and conveyed their thankfulness and gratitude.
