Jalandhar, November 7, 2015: Guru Nanak Dev University College, Ladowali road Jalandhar, today organised a guest lecture on Natural Resources and Conservation. The chief guests of the lectures were Dr.Avinash Kaur Nagpal, Professor, Department of Botanical and Environmental Science; Director, Human Resource Development Centre, Guru Nanak Dev University and Dr.Simran Kaur, Associate Professor, Department Of Biological Sciences And Geology In Queensborough Community College, City University of New York, United States Of America.
While congratulating the students and the teachers, Dr. Jaspal Singh Randhawa, Principal said that, “it is informative session for all of us. ‘Scope’ is originally ‘Students’ Community On Prevention Of Environment”. This legacy initiated in 2013 and leads till now. This legacy also spins our infrastructure and developed our college magnificently. More than 300 plants saplings have been planted in our campus. I thank and congratulate the chief guests.”
Dr. Avinash Kaur Nagpal, Professor Department of Botanical And Environmental Science; Director, Human Resource Development Centre, Guru Nanak Dev University said that, “we must do things in greener way to use our resources. The utilisation and maintenance of our natural resources is in our hands. Nature provides us needs not for greed’s.”
Dr Simran Kaur, Associate Professor, Department Of Biological Sciences And Geology In Queensborough Community College, City University Of New York promotes the teaching techniques of the teachers and said that, “being alumni of this university, I feel overwhelmed to be part of this function. I congratulate all individuals here. The ‘scope’ is a special initiative of the college to promote the environmental way.”
The main attraction of the event was performances like mime, dance performances and songs. The tag of Mr. Eco friendly was awarded to Digvijay Singh and Ms. Eco friendly to Guneet Kaur. Waris and Harleen Kaur were awarded as best organiser of the event. Mr. Vishal Sharma, Ms. Shaveta Sharma, Ms. Manpreet Kaur,Ms.  Pooja Lekhi, Ms. Pavitra. Ms. Kanupriya, Ms. Nancy, Ms Amandeep Kaur, Ms Sonia Madaan And Ms. Sarita Kumara also graced the occasion with their presence.
