Ludhiana, March 31, 2017: Day 3 of ISW 2017 started with Global Village, where 12 International teams from Papua New Guinea, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Colombia, Maldives, Syria, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gambia, Indonesia, Libya and Lesotho participated. The event provided a platform for the students to experience different cultures of various countries under one roof. The cultural diversity was showcased through the means of art and music.
Under Global Village, students organized their native booths - Display of Culture, Flag & Native commodities along with Information about the country and Tattoo Making marked the day. “The event has something to offer to everyone. The event was full of fun” said Amie Hydra, student from Gambia at PCTE.
The team from Papua New Guinea showcased traditional instruments like drums (kundu), traditional bags (bilum) and traditional attire. The event also carried out a flag march in the campus in which they showcased flags of their respective countries.
Ms. Agnes Eri, one of the delegate from PNG said that “It's pretty beautiful to experience different cultures and to know about them under one roof. We're glad to be here and witness such a wonderful event being organised by the institute.”
On the occasion, Dr. K.N.S. Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes said that such event promotes sense of brotherhood and team spirit among the students. He said that it’s a great opportunity for Indian students to learn and compare themselves with foreign students, which in turn will prepare them to take bigger challenges in the global competitive world. He further added that PCTE has 240 International students from 37 countries studying in different courses making PCTE a truly global campus.
