GIS employees to get 6 percent DA: HP Industries Minister

Shimla, September 28, 2015: The employees of Himachal Pradesh General Industries Corporation have been provided additional dearness allowance of six percent  from 1stJanuary, 2015. This was decided in 197th  meeting of Board of Directors of General Industries Corporation (GIS) held here today under the chairmanship of Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri.
It was decided in the meeting that the arrears accrued from 1st January, 2015 to 31st August, 2015 would be credited in the provident fund accounts of the employees.
Shri Agnihotri asked the Corporation to diversify its activities so as to make it more profitable. He said that the Corporation had earned the profit of Rs. 7.29 crore till 31st March, 2015 as compared to Rs. 4.02 crore during the corresponding period.
Industries Minister said that the Corporation has registered a sale of Rs. 14.49 crore during April, 2015 to June, 2015.
Shri Rajender Singh, Commissioner, Industries and Managing Director, GIS welcomed the Industries Minister and other members of the BoD.
The members of BoD also gave their valuable suggestions in the meeting.
Principal Secretary, Industries Shri R.D. Dhiman and senior officers attended the meeting.
42nd Annual General Meeting of GIC held
Annual general meeting of General Industries Corporation Ltd. was held here today under the chairmanship of Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri.
It was decided in the meeting to re-appoint three non official Directors of the Board besides appointment of Statutory Auditors of the Corporation for the year 2015-16.
Chief Secretary Shri P. Mitra, Principal Secretary Industries Shri R.D. Dhiman, Commissioner Industries Shri Rajender Singh, Managing Director, Himachal Pradesh Financial Corporation Shri Arun Sharma, Labour Commissioner Shri Amit Kashyap and other senior officers of the Corporation attended the meeting.
Building and Other Construction Workers Board State Advisory Committee meeting held
Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Board State Advisory Committee meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri here today.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Agnihotri said that the Building and Other Construction Workers Board should ensure registration of maximum number of workers so that more and more people could be benefitted from the various welfare schemes launched by the Board. He said that for this the Board should ensure maximum publicity of their schemes.
He said that at present over 82,000 workers have been registered with the Board and efforts should be made to register workers working in unorganized sectors. He said that the Board would be provided adequate staff and infrastructure to achieve its objectives.
Industries Minister said that concerned officers should ensure maximum collection of cess from the contractors so that the same could be used for welfare of the workers. He said that all the district headquarters would be provided accommodation for the Board so that workers could easily register with the Board and their problems could be solved nearer to the working places. He said that labour huts and night shelters would be constructed in different parts of the State for the workers.
Shri Agnihotri said that the Board should develop its website and update it regularly. He said that website should contain details of various schemes launched by the Board besides names of the beneficiaries.
Additional Chief Secretary, PWD Shri Narender Chauhan, Principal Secretary, Industries Shri R.D. Dhiman, Commissioner, Industries Shri Rajender Singh, Labour Commissioner Shri Amit Kashyap and other senior officers of State Government attended the meeting besides the representatives of Labour Class.
H.P. Handicrafts & Handloom Corporation Employees to get enhanced DA
The employees of H.P. State Handicrafts and Handloom Corporation (HPSH&HC) would get Additional Dearness Allowance @ 6 per cent with effect January, 2015. This was decided in 169th meeting of BoD of Himachal Pradesh Handicrafts and Handloom Corporation held here today under the Chairmanship of Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Agnihotri said that the Corporation had earned a profit of Rs. 131.03 lakh during the last financial year. He said that the Corporation during the current financial year till date has registered sale of Rs. 1223.16 as compared to sale of Rs. 794.99 lakh during the corresponding period of last year.  
Shri Agnihotri said that the Corporation was running 94 training centres in different crafts in various parts of the State. He said that three training centres would be opened in Kangra district soon.
Managing Director HPSH&HC Shri A.C. Sharma conducted the proceedings of the meeting.
Non official Members of the Corporation gave their valuable suggestions during the meeting.

221st meeting of Board of Directors of Khadi and Village Industries held
221st meeting of Board of Directors of Khadi and Village Industries Board held here today under the Chairmanship of Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri.
It was informed in the meeting that the Board had provided margin money of Rs. 100.60 lakh to 53 units with project cost of Rs. 326.70 lakh. He said that the Corporation would provide special concession ranging 20-25 percent on cotton, woolen, silk and poly khadi products of the Board during 2nd October, 2015 to 31 March, 2016.
Vice Chairman, Himachal Pradesh, Khadi and Village Industries Board Shri Ramesh Chauhan while welcoming the Minister proposed construction of four stroyed building at sale centre Kullu. He said that this would provide additional income to the Board.
It was informed in the meeting that the Board has generated an income of Rs. 89.04 lakh during current financial year as compared to Rs. 70.64 lakh during the corresponding year.
Chief Executive Officer, Khadi Board Ms. Reema Kashyap conducted the proceedings of the meeting.
Principal Secretary Industries Shri R.D. Dhiman, Commissioner Industries Shri Rajender Singh and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
