GIIS smart campus at Hadapsar promotes Gandhian principles with launch of Mahatma Gandhi Centre for Universal Values

Pune, August 26, 2019: Global Indian International School, recently inaugurated the Mahatma Gandhi Centre for Universal Values at its newly launched SMART campus in Hadapsar, in the presence of former Indian Cricket Captain Chandu Borde (Co-Founder and Ex-President, Global Schools Foundation), Chief Guest - Ambassador Aftab Seth (President, Global Schools Foundation), Guest of Honour - Dr.Shobha Supekar (Director, Maharshi Karvey Stree Shikshan Sanstha), Rajiv Bansal (Director Operations, GIIS India) and Vaishali Borde (National Head Co-scholastic & GMP, GIIS India).

The Centre was established with a commitment to inculcate the Gandhian philosophy & values into young minds, who will be the leaders of tomorrow.

The MGCUV gives students valuable insights into the learnings and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi along with serving as an institutional lodestar in terms of the values and beliefs it reinforces and their relevance to the world in which we live.

During the event, Borde shared his life experiences with the students, as a cricket player & GSF President. Ambassador Aftab Seth guided the audience to follow Gandhian Principles like those of universal leaders of the world, while Dr. Shobha Supekar addressed the gathering speaking on the Gandhian Philosophy & its relevance in today’s world. She also gifted a ‘special Digital Multi Media kit on Mahatma Gandhi’ to the Principal Dr. Lakshmi Prasanna.

The inauguration ceremony of the MGCUV was followed by a plethora of cultural activities, focusing on the Gandhian values, which were organized and performed by the students of GIIS. The event concluded on a grand note, where the parents, teachers and guests cheered and applauded students for their extraordinary performance and left with the feeling of pride and patriotism in their hearts.
