Ludhiana, August 30, 2019: Dr.Arvinder Singh, Principal, Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Civil Lines, Ludhiana will be presenting his research paper entitled ‘Guru Nanak’s Model of Multicultural Society and Peaceful Coexistence & it's Relevance in the 21st century’ in the International Conference on ‘A Journey of 550 years: Sikh Studies in Academia’ dedicated to Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 550th Birth Anniversary from 3rd to 5th September, 2019 organized by the Centre for Sikh and Punjab Studies of University of Wolverhampton, Wolverhampton (United Kingdom).
Dr.Arvinder Singh, sharing his views said that it is a duty of an individual and the society as a whole to contribute in spreading the spiritual teachings and universal message of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji into the nook and corner of this world on the auspicious occasion of 550thbirth anniversary of Guru Nanak.
He added that Guru Nanak has emphasized on the creation and development of a multicultural society in which various castes, cultures, creeds, languages, etc would progress and develop in different spheres of life as per their potential and capabilities by living in harmony, love, affection, tolerance and patience, helping each other, and by maintaining the peace in the society. He also said that in the present scenario Guru Nanak’s vision of multicultural society and peaceful coexistence is utmost relevant and meaningful.
In addition to this, he mentioned that by implementing the Guru Nanak’s preaching of religious tolerance, human unity and brotherhood in the 21st century, we’ll be able to fulfill the objective of creating a happy, safe and peaceful society by seeking solution to intolerance, fanaticism, communalism and linguistic discrimination.
Dr.Arvinder Singh also told that Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with University of Wolverhampton (U.K.) for the continual academic support and help and it will provide ample opportunities to the faculty members and students of both the institutions for cultural and academic exchange programmes in near future.
