Ludhiana, October 5, 2019: Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana won laurel to the college in Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival (Zone A) organised by Panjab University, Chandigarh and hosted by Mata Ganga Khalsa College for Girls (Kottan) Ludhiana.
Dr Arvinder Singh, college Principal shared the achievements of the students in various activities with pride. He told that college Bhangra team (Rajat Gill, Neeraj Joti, Bhanu Partap, Gurvinder Singh, Randeep Singh, Captain Singh, Prashant Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Dogra and Shivam Kumar) has grabbed first prize and one of the team members Captain Singh won an individual first prize making the college proud. He appreciated the endeavours of Professor in-charge of Bhangra team, Prof.Manjit Singh, Dr Dileep Singh, Prof Harsimran Singh and coach of the team Gurikjot Singh and Dholi Binder. He further added with pride that the college Jhumar Team (Dharam Singh, Anshpreet Singh, Damanjit Singh, Tejveer Singh, Sukhpreet Singh, Manpreet Singh, Vishal Kumar, Harinder Singh, Paras, Isharpal Singh, Amritpal Singh and Rohit Behal) was sent for the first time for Panjab University Inter Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival and has grabbed second prize and one of the team members (Damanjit Singh) has won an individual first prize. Adding further he told that the students have won prizes in almost all the categories of the competition ;Alisha- second in Handwriting, Arshdeep, Sarthik and Vajinder- second in Quiz, Dilpreet Singh- second in Collage Making, Sourav- third in Geet, Gurleen Sandhu- third in Creative Writing (Poem).
Prof Jatinder Kapoor (Department of Commerce) in-charge College Cultural activities said that the college keeps on organising cultural alongwith the academic activities to enhance the confidence level of the students and also to encourage them to find out their hidden talent. She also said that by participating in such kind of activities the students will get more exposure for their all round development. College Principal congratulated all the participants for their energetic participation in all the activities during this four-day Inter Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival. He applauded the endeavours of the management committee and each and every teaching and non-teaching members of the faculty as well as expressed his expectations from the teams to do better in the forthcoming competitions and win laurel to the college.
