Jalandhar, January 31, 2016: Gandhian week was celebrated at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya in remembrance of Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary, from 25th January to 30th January. The week was celebrated by the Centre for Gandhian Studies at HMV. On this occasion various competitions were held throughout the week. Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj said that ‘Gandhi ji has given our country the needed direction and courage. She mentioned that without our father of nation, we would have not achieved independence.
Dr. Rajiv Kumar of Centre for Gandhian Studies on Martyr’s day stated that it was faith and virtues of Gandhiji that made freedom struggle powerful. He said that we celebrate Gandhian Week each year just to remember the great soul and his contribution in our life. At the morning assembly hymns like Raghupati Raghav echoed and two minutes silence was observed at 11.00 a.m. to pay gratitude to martyred soul.
On this occasion, Mrs. Nita Malik, HOD Political Science and Mrs. Alka were also present.
