Jalandhar, October 25, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar presented 'Gagan Mein Thaal' Devotional Play by Balwant Gargi to commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji. Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Principal KMV averred that KMV have presented this play to commemorate the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji. The cast and crew were the students of KMV who enacted this magnum opus with great devotion and hard work. Many distinguished personalities such as Mr Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal, Dr Sushma Chawla, Vice President, KMV Managing Committee, Mr Alok Sondhi, General Secretary, KMV Managing Committee, Mrs Neerja Chander Mohan, Member, KMV Managing Committee, Smt Sushila Bhagat, Smt Neeru Kapoor, Dr Deepali Luthra, Mr Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Commissioner Police, Jalandhar, Mr Diprava Lakra, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, Mr Jasvir Singh, ADC, Jalandhar, Mrs Paramjit Kaur Ghuman, Principal, Government Arts & Sports College, Jalandhar, Dr Iqbal Singh, Former Governor, Pondicherry along with other eminent personalities from civil administration & KMV Managing Committee graced the occasion with their luminous presence. Prof. Mahinder and Ms Shweta were the directors of the play who have put in their best efforts keeping in sync with the spiritual magnitude of the subject. Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi further maintained that the whole college has contributed to the presentation of the play. The costumes for the play were stitched by the students of PG Department of Fashion Designing, live music was performed by PG Department of Music, makeup was done by the PG Department of Cosmetology, digital effects was provided by the PG Department of IT & Animation & the event was organised by the PG Department of Punjabi. It is worth a mention that KMV has organized a series of programs to commemorate the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji. Some being the musical presentation of Mohan Singh's ''Naankayan'' & a seminar on ''Guru Nanak Bani: Mool Sarokaar Te Prasangikta''. All these events were organized in collaboration with Punjab Kala Parishad, Chandigarh.
