Fudan University Shanghai Invites Professor B.S. Ghuman

CHANDIGARH, MAY 31, 2017: Fudan University, Shanghai- one of the premier institutes of higher learning in China has invited Dr. B.S. Ghuman, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Professor, Department of Public Administration Panjab University(PU), Chandigarh to participate in China-India Workshop on Development and Governance to be held on June 3, 2017. The Workshop is sponsored by the Dr. Seaker Chan Center for Comparative Political Development Studies; the Fudan University School of Internatioal Relations and Public Affairs; and the Center for Gandhian and Indian Studies at Fudan. It aims at exploring the ways to improve the complimentary relationship between domestic governance and development in China and India by learning from each other’s
experience and by deliberating western practices and local conditions. The high-profile workshop will be attended by delegates from institutes across the world namely Harvard Business School, Heidelberg University, Germany; National University of Singapore, Singapore; The University of Melbourne, Australia; Jawaharlal Nehru University, India; the Australian National University. Australia; and Indian School of Business, India to mention a few. During the Workshop, Professor Ghuman will
present his paper on “Economic Development and Governance: The Indian Experience” in which he is examining the role of governance in economic development in India pre and post-economic reforms.
