Friend’s Theatre Group stages Dr. Ajay Sharma’s drama Mohammad Jalauddin in Desh Bhagat Yaadgar Hall

Jalandhar,July 1, 2019: Friend’s Theatre Group on June 29 staged renowned vernacular dramatist and novelist of India Dr.Ajay Sharma’s drama Mohammad Jalauddin under the skilful direction of Director –Ashok Kalyan, in Desh Bhagat Yaadgar Hall amidst fanfare. Artists of Friend’s Theatre Group-Balraj Sidhu beautifully portrayed role of Ajnabi, Shagun Baabr as Salma , Rajat Bangari as Bashir , Rahul Sharma as Alam and Rajinder Kaur as Amma . Mohammad Jalaluddin portrayed harmony and communal balance against the backdrop of contemporary situations well amplified by the emotional quotient and effective portrayal by characters.In the play Mohammad Jalauddin Dr Ajay Sharma has outpoured his inner fictitious urge mingled with inner monologue of an aspirant youth who aspires to make a career in Bollywood but when he reaches Mumbai , he is caught in the cobweb of communal violence and he has to undergo and face challenges of the modern split world ridden with religious fervor, tsunami of creativity and undue societal pressures.The drama’s circumstances created characters in full blood and flesh and thereafter,and these so called created characters further developed the plot artistically and gave a new meaning to this creative work. Mohammad Jalauddin is a potent creative work which has highlighted a universal fact that the most needed ingredient for any country to survive and sustain is to maintain and to restore a perfect equilibrium between different sects and religions so as to bring about communal harmony and secularism.The drama promulgates a basic theory that in case of communal riots and violence, we should not become a part of the mob indulging in arson and bloodshed, Instead we should all work for collective mutual understanding and unison. The language of the drama is self evolving and the coinages created by Dr Ajay Sharma unfolds the spirit of the characters magically and majestically, thereby, catapulting the entire creativity on a grand pedestal of loftiness. .Mohammad Jalauddin beautifully reflects the message of communal harmony which is the present need of society.
