Free ‘Yoga Workshop’ held in OPD Block
Ludhiana, June 18, 2019: On the occasion of World Yoga Week, free ‘Yoga Workshop’ was held today in Private OPD Block of the hospital. The workshop was organized jointly by Department of Pain Management and Department of Yoga. The purpose of organizing the workshop was to guide patients and public at large to make them know the benefits of ‘Yoga’ as an addition therapy to treat chronic pain and help in maintaining general wellness. Vice- Principal Dr GS Wander along with Medical Supdt Dr Sandeep Sharma formally inaugurated the worksop. In his message,Dr Wander said that in recent times, “YOGA” has gained prominence in curing many ailments and help people in leading a balanced and healthy life. In his message, Secretary Sh Prem Kumar Gupta lauded the efforts of organizers in organizing the workshop Dr Suneet Kathuria (Professor of Anaesthesia and In-charge of PAIN MANAGEMENT CLINIC) emphasized on the learning of ‘Yoga’ techniques for getting relief from chronic pain problems. Yoga Consultant of DMCH-Dr Sanjeev Singh Rawat along with Mr Sanjeev Tyagi demonstrated many ‘yoga asanas’ which was well-appreciated by the audience. A special yoga exercise of laughing in group brought smile on the faces of all those present in Private OPD Block of the hospital. Dr PL Gautam (Professor & Head of Critical Care Medicine) also performed various typical ‘YOGA ASANAS’ which was a surprise for many present on the occasion. The participants, who were demonstrating splendid YOGA exercises made the audience spellbound with their amazing feats.
