A free medical & Heart Check up camp being organised by DMCH Unit- Hero DMC Heart Institute on Sunday in association with Kalgidhar Trust Baru Sahib at Akal Academy, Cheema Mandi, District Sangrur.

Ludhiana, June 30, 2014: A free medical & Heart Check up camp was organised by Dayanand Medical College & Hospital Unit- Hero DMC Heart Institute on Sunday in association with Kalgidhar Trust Baru Sahib at Akal Academy, Cheema Mandi, District Sangrur. Camp was inaugurated by Dr.G.S Wander (Chief Cardiologist HDHI) followed by a lecture on common Heart diseases & their prevention. Dr.Rajinder Bansal Neurologist at DMCH was also present at the camp to provide free consultaion to patients.

More than 500 patients were benefited in the camp. Team of doctors & Technicians which also included Dr.Rohit Tandon Consultant at HDHI has shown their dedicated efforts at the camp to serve the patients.

Large segments of Punjab rural populations do not have access to safe and reliable healthcare. Hero DMC Heart Institute aims to provide medical assistance to these under-resourced populations through Free medical camps as it the optimal way by bringing healthcare to their doorstep, We ensures that the greatest number of patients are served without hindering daily livelihood. Patients, based on their lifestyle, history and current complaints, are screened for various diseases and asymptomatic conditions like hypertension/diabetes etc. Majority of patients in the camp were found to have cardiac problems which can be reversible if proper measures can be taken, for which awareness is very integral part, said Dr.G.S Wander.

According to Dr.Rajinder Bansal Neurologist DMCH said, “It is very wonderful experience with the camp. The locality of the area is very poor and there are no proper facilities to traveling from village to town and get facilities of medicines, Hospitals and other primary useful things. We helped about more than 500 needy patients and gave them free medicine.”
