Amritsar, November 19, 2014 : Guru Nanak Dev University would celebrates its 45th Foundation Day on November 24 at the various venues in the University Campus. Documents on Punjab through ages will be the main attraction of these celebrations along with other activities.
Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Registrar said that various committees have been constituted for the smooth conduct of celebrations of Foundation Day. He said that  S.K. Joshi, Former Director General, CSIR;  S.P. Gautam, Former Vice-Chancellor, MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly & Professor, Centre for Philosophy, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and S.B. Singh IG (Hqrs), Central Industrial Security Force will be
delivering Academic Lectures in the Guru Nanak Bhawan Auditorium of the University at 11:00 am. Vice-Chancellor,  Ajaib Singh Brar would preside over, he added.
He said that books, rare books, manuscripts and rare photographs of Punjab through the ages from Indus Valley Civilisation by Bhai Gurdas Library would be the main attraction on this occasion. He said that the celebrations would be started with Bhog Sri Akhand Path at University Gurdwara Sahib followed by Shabad Kirtan by Bhai Jagdeep
Singh, Hazoori Ragi, Sri Darbar Sahib. He said that an exhibition of Rare Books, Manuscripts, Painting contest and Folklore would also be organised at various venues.
He said that Guru-Ka-Langar would be server at Senate Hall Lawns followed by Hockey Match at the Astroturf Stadium. He said that in the evening another Kirtan Darbar at the University Gurdwara Sahib would also be organised.
