Impounded tractor by the forest officials.
Ferozepur, November 15, 2017: Acting swiftly the officials from the forest department has averted the bid to encroach forest land. Giving details, Charanjit Singh, Divisional Forest Officer, Harike said that they had received information that on November 13, few people were trying to encroach forest land situated in Village Mand Kiriya. “As soon as the matter was reported, we reached there but the accused, who were 12-15 persons, ran away on two tractors as soon as they saw our team. However, one tractor was impounded by the range officers”, said DFO.
The DFO said that the matter was reported to the police. The officials from the forest department have also recovered few drums of diesel which indicate that the encroachers had some big plans in mind.
