Chandigarh, September 29, 2015: The Punjab Finance Minister Mr.Parminder Singh Dhindsa left for Australia to study VAT and GST systems enforced in Australia and submit a complete report regarding this to Government of India.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesman of the government said that Mr.Dhindsa is a part of the Empowered Committee of State Finance Ministers who has gone to Study VAT/GST System and would remain in Sydney and Canberra till October 4.
He also said that the Department of Revenue under Union Finance Ministry has constituted an Empowered Committee of Finance Ministers of various states. This visit of the finance Ministers was considered as important because the recommendations would be considered in framing new policy on VAT/GST.
