Jalandhar, January 14, 2013: On the occasion of Lohri celebrations in the Urban State Phase-1 here on Sunday, City Police claimed to have busted a flesh trade racket arresting six persons.
The SHO, Division No.7, Som Nath told the media persons that acting on a tip-off, the police sent a decoy customer at a residential flat, where the police nabbed three persons alongwith similar number of women.
These couples were spotted at the time of raid by the police.
He said the king pin of the racket was allegedly supplying innocent girls to the customers for a sum between Rs 2,500 to 5,000 for one night.
A case under Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act has been registered against all the six persons and the police are further investigating the matter.
