First time induction program-cum-workshop for new PG students started in Tanda

Dharamshala, June 8, 2018: “The medical education unit at Dr.RP Government Medical College, Tanda, embarked on a new journey by conducting an exclusive induction program cum workshop for first year post graduation students joining the institution this year”, said Dr.Bhanu Awasthi, Principal Dr.RP Government Medical College in his inaugural address of a three days induction program cum workshop for post graduate students in Tanda near here on Friday.
Dr Awasthi further added, “The aim of this program, first of its kind in this institution is to jump start the journey of post graduate students towards production of a specialist with requisite knowledge, skills, attitudes, values and responsiveness, so that he or she may function appropriately and effectively as a doctor of appropriate contact to the community while being globally relevant.”
Principal informed that this year 81 post graduate (MD/MS) students across different parts of India have joined Dr. RPGMC, in 17 broader specialties. In addition a total of five first year post graduate students from Rajiv Gandhi institute of Ayurveda, Paprola (Himachal Pradesh) were also invited to attend the workshop.
The three day workshop is focusing on some of the most important issues concerning the healthcare like hospital communication with patients, waste management, medico-legal responsibilities, Generic medicine etc. Further, the induction program also involves preparation of protocols of thesis during post graduation period. The last day of the induction program has been dedicated to the understanding of revised national tuberculosis control program (RNTCP).
