FinIQ emerge as winners of Puneri Paltan’s ‘Bol Kabaddi Corporate Challenge’
Pune, October 1, 2018: Puneri Paltan, with an aim to imbibe sporting culture in corporates organised Corporate Challenge at Phoenix Market City Mall. The Puneri Paltan Bol Kabaddi Corporate Challenge powered by FinIQ is one of the prime initiatives of Puneri Paltan to develop Kabaddi and spread the sport in all the sections of the society. Eight teams from corporates took part in the tournament. FinIQ and Tech Mahindra had two teams each participating in the tournament, namely FinIQ (A), FinIQ (B) and Tech Mahindra (A), Tech Mahindra (B). The atmosphere was filled with excitement and enthusiasm as the participants were playing such a tournament for the first time. The finale of the tournament was played between FinIQ (A) team and Tech Mahindra (A) team where FinIQ (A) emerged as the champions with a final score of 40-35. Girish Ernak, More GB and Akshay Jadhav from Puneri Paltan felicitated the winners with medals. They also acknowledged the efforts of these kabaddi enthusiasts and encouraged them to play the game regularly. Commenting on the Occasion, Kailash Kandpal, CEO Puneri Paltan said, “Kabaddi is really an interesting sport, which has grown massively in the recent years and has a bright future in India. By organizing such tournaments, we are building a culture in the country, which will open up many opportunities for Kabaddi enthusiasts. We were overwhelmed by the response we got for the Corporate Challenge and it was indeed an endearing experience to see corporates embracing the game with open arms. This goes to prove that the sport is equally popular in both rural and urban areas. We shall continue to organize such tournaments in future which will help Kabaddi as a sport to grow in the country.” Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Uday Oak, COO, FinIQ, Co-partners of Puneri Paltan Bol Kabaddi Corporate Challenge said, “Kabaddi is a truly indigenous game, as much as chess. This game engages players and spectators alike through a combination of simplicity and excitement. The game doesn’t need any specialized equipment – players with enthusiasm and fit bodies are enough to keep the audience engrossed. We are very keen to participate in spreading this game across, overcoming all impediments and divisions.” This initiative was much appreciated by the participating teams and they expressed their desire to be a part of more such tournaments. The spectators witnessed some amazing Kabaddi moves and were enthusiastically cheering for their favourite teams. The sixth edition of Vivo Pro Kabaddi League will begin from 7 October 2018 in Chennai. Puneri Paltan’s home matches will be held at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mahalunge - Balewadi from 18 October – 24 October 2018.
