Fill vacant posts

Hoshiarpur, September 13, 2012:  A meeting of the Diploma Engineers Association, Punjab Water Resources and Development Corporation (PWRMDC) was held under the leadership of state president Tara Singh Saini here today.

The association unanimously resolved that the Chief Minister Punjab Parkash Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and Punjab Irrigation Minister Janmeja Singh Shekhon should direct the concerned officials to fill the vacant posts.

Leaders said these posts are lying vacant due to retirement of Junior Engineers (JEs), Electricians and Tube well Operators over the period. As a result, the routine functioning is getting affected.

The association leaders felt that a large number of the employees had got retired over the period and the last recruitment of JEs was done in the year 1990-91.

The meeting also discussed the issue of pension of the employees of PWRMDC.

SK Parmar, Mukesh Kumar “Hariyana” Jasbir Singh, Pardeep Singh and Rajinder Singh were among those present.

Meanwhile, the two unions namely TEWU Union Unit, Hoshiarpur led by president Prem Chand and PWRMDC Employees Union Unit Hoshiarpur president Brij Bihari Lal today formed `Punjab Water Resources Joint Action Committee’ here today.

It was formed under the presidentship of Satish Rana, President, Punjab Subordinate Service Federation Punjab. They also  demonstrated infront of the office of Superintending Engineer , PWRMDC, Hoshiarpur and then submitted memorandum to the Naib Tehsildar to forward it to CM.

The memorandum, among other things, demanded promotions and filling of the vacant seats due to retirement , pension and salary on time .

Ram Singh, General Secretary , Iqbal Singh General Secretary ,Paramjit Singh ,Rampal  and Pamji Dass Chauhan  were among those present.
